The Automotive Industries Association of Canada (AIAC) published an article titled “The Truth About Maintaining Your Vehicle Warranty” in which it confirms new vehicle owners are not obligated to have their car maintained by the dealer for the car’s warranty to remain valid. The AIAC also published a notice to consumers on the same topic.

In the same article, the AIAC explains that “the only service that may be required to be done at a car dealer are warranty repairs and recalls”.
